Thin Ice Is a Water Problem, Not an Ice Maker Problem

This is the most useful thing on the page and it saves people from paying for the wrong part.

A refrigerator ice maker works on a cycle. The mold reaches a set temperature, a switch or sensor confirms the previous batch has frozen, the harvest mechanism ejects the cubes, and then the water inlet valve opens for a fixed number of seconds to refill the mold.
